Piano and strings go like bread and cheese which is richly signified in a recently released "I Am Water" by a Dutch outfit Wieb.
Taking off on carefully played yet very dynamic bars, it is as if I was witnessing a creature wake up from sleep and soon enough set itself at flight. Switching the lead between piano and cello the composition captivates, entertains and moves, its melody supported by elegant sweeps of the accompaniment, which - like wind blows - keep the piece well above the ground for its entire duration.
