It's almost too easy too go down the melancholic avenue in neoclassical genre, which is why a lot of 'weeping' compositions get turned down when I hear them. One of few exceptions to the rule being "Expectance" by Structure - a Uzbekistani composer who reaches out to us for the first time.
Well balanced on piano and strings, the piece does self-reflect quite a lot and does it with a dose of suffering, but all the while hold a promise for a brighter future, thus reflecting strength of character and purpose - bravo.
