Ieva Dubova, who just a few days ago made her debut on our blog, is returning with another wonderful piano piece entitled ''First Snow''.
Much like her prior release, ''First Snow'' also thrives on the intricacy of the recording. While the melodic elements remains naive, almost childish, it is not the lack of competence, but rather the courage and dedication to the idea that kept the notation minimalist. Suggestive of the title, the music paints the picture of first snow with admirable accuracy. Despite it being mid July at the time of writing this, I am almost inclined to look out the window to check whether I can see any snowflakes.
