DeLange is an Dutch neo-romantic composer and pianist who writes primarily for solo piano. His recent release ''Night Surrender'' is no short of a masterpiece in the genre that spoke to us in more than one ways.
Gently leading in on toggling chords soon joined by the most elegant melody, the piano piece tells a memory that's both cherished and demanding in it's essence - a demand that is well illustrated in the change of the theme that follows. The instrument is played with immense amounts of both skill, but also heart - charming the ears with it's elasticity, dynamics and honesty. The composer doesn't shy from treating the listener to yet another theme change by the end of his composition, expanding the already picturesque horizon even more.
