California Care Package is an American project that makes melancholic, spiritual, thoughtful ambient music. They have recently caught our attention with their release ”A Year from tomorrow”.
Sounding equally uplifting and meditative, what first comes to mind when hearing this seven-minute piece of ambient music, is the urge to lie down and loose yourself in the soundscape. With fluent synth-sounds colouring most of the aural environment of the track, and what sounds like a reverberated piano playing fragile melodies in the background, the piece to me ends up feeling both rooted and volatile. Slowly pulling your mind towards a state of ascension, this piece is a delightful listen if you just want to float along with the music and let it move you.
